Oct30 2011 004 225x300 I Am A Witch
Photo taken today, my 56th Birthday (Oct. 30, 2011) — in my brand new “Witch In Training” shirt (birthday present) with my amethyst topped walking stick from the PA Renn Faire 2008. Today finds me reflecting once again what it means to me living life as a Witch and Qi Healer and even after over 30 years of experince – I am still learning, still a “Witch In A Training,” and a student of life, always open to expanding in understanding, learning new knowledge, and deepening of wisdom.

Below is a journal entry and inspiration that came to me after the wonderful experience of attending the Spirit of Womongathering (June 2010) Weekend Retreat and celebrating Summer Solstice that year (with one small but significant change). It captures my thoughts at that time that I was reflecting on what it means to me to be a Witch and exploring what to focus on in the months ahead. As I experience life, learn and grow in awareness, I find it is very beneficial to revisit beliefs, assumptions, habits, etc. It is beneficial to see how one has grown and evolved, and a useful exercise to energize and renew my commitment to my spiritual path. As the imagery flowed and I put the thoughts into words it helped to solidify my commitment to living life as a wise woman, a healer, and witch. As my qi gong teacher says, “words have power, words are seeds that will grow.”

Today is my birthday; I am 56 years young. As I look back and read the words written over a year ago, they are as true today as they were then. The small change I made today is to add “Qi Healer,” healing has always been important to me but now it is the main focus of the studies and the purpose of my life. Both qi gong for healing and wicca have become the very fabric of my soul.

Blessed Be, Lady Rose

I am a Witch and Qi Healer – Mother Earth is my altar (sacred space), my body is my temple, my senses, imagination, will, passion, integrity, words, thoughts, and deeds are my magical tools. Everything else is just window dressing – window dressing is fun and I love to have a few nice witchy things, but they are definitely not necessary.

I am a Witch and Qi Healer – it is the very foundation of how I live my life every single day, every single interaction I have, and every choice I make – not just about how I celebrate the full moon or seasonal changes. I don’t need to be perfect at it, and I can forgive myself for the past – there is no need for guilt or regrets.

I am a Witch and Qi Healer – each day is a new beginning and opportunity to connect with Mother Earth, contribute to the positive energies of the Web of Life, love and be loved by those around me, and to learn and grow in mind, heart, and spirit.

Here is another writing about my thoughts on being a Witch, Life and Who I Am (July 2008):

An Introduction to a Witch
I am now and probably always have a been a Witch – even during those dark times in my life when I didn’t believe in anything. It is the air I breathe, it is the earth I walk upon, it is the balm that soothes my soul, and the light that guides my spirit. I have many labels I carry in this life – but Witch is the one that is the closest to revealing the truth of who I am.

I am a Survivor
I have survived child abuse, crippling arthritis (diagnosed at age 2, the doctors said I would not be able to walk), rape, extreme poverty, beatings, a gun held to my head once, too much drinking as a teen, cancer, two previous failed marriages, unkind words, broken promises, lies, and long torturous nights of pain and tears.

I am Blessed
I have been blessed with the love of my husband, my awesome daughter, my heart-sisters (and best friends) Mama Kelly and Brookela, many dear friends, an odd sense of humor, curiosity, an open mind, tenacity, a touch of creativity, and all the experiences in my life – the good and the bad.

I am Passionate
I have many passions (and a few obsessions perhaps) – my current one is blogging and creating a healthy lifestyle to regain my health and balance.  I love a wide range of music, I love art, and I love to write.  In 1989 graduated college  (summa cum laude) with a B.A. in Liberal Studies after 11 years of night school. I’ve traveled to Egypt, London, Paris, Ireland, Jamaica, Canada, and several U.S. states (I hope to one day visit Hawaii).

I am a peripatetic spirit having one heck of an out of the ordinary life journey.      ~ Lady Rose

chi symbol1 Qi Gong for Healing

Qi Symbol

Tonight I will be in Qi Gong for Healing class with my instructors Brian Coffey and Fran Maher in Warren, NJ.  It is the start of the second weekend for the Qi Healer Intensive course – the class is two consecutive weekends (Friday evening and all day Sat. & Sun.).  I took the class for the first time in the fall of 2009.  In 2010 I took the next level class Qi Therapist Intensive (a three weekend class).  After taking the class for the first time, my teachers offer all returning students the opportunity to take the class as many times as they want to at no cost.  It is beneficial to retake the class for many reasons.  Each time I learn more and gain a deeper understanding, and more importantly I get to experience the energy that is shared by my teachers and others in the class.

Qi Gong is a form of energy work and healing techniques that are over 8000 years old.  It is both simple and deeply profound, connecting the body-mind-spirit through breath, movement, and meditations.  In class we learn self-help practices for our own well-being, balance, and inner peace and how to gather, build, store, circulate, and transmit qi healing energy to help others.  The techniques can be done any where, any time, and do not require any special tools.

I will be posting more about qi gong in the future, but if any one has any questions or would like more information at any time, feel free to contact me by email (or send a message via my facebook profile).

Namaste, Lady Rose (Qi Gong Healer)

InfiniteLight 300x144 The Infinite Light

The Infinite Light
by Lady Rose

I am surrounded by the Infinite Light.
My soul huddles, frightened in fear.
I am healed by the Infinite Light.
My body aches, crushed in pain.
I am cradled by the Infinite Light.
My heart bleeds, broken by loss.
I am nourished by the Infinite Light.
My mind screams, overcome with terror.
I am guided by the Infinite Light.
My soul reaches out from the darkness.
I am surrounded by the Infinite Light.

InfiniteLight The Infinite Light

No matter how bad the darkness seems, remember the Inifinite Light is always with you.
Blessed Be, Lady Rose

Note: I wrote this poem in July 2006 in the wee hours of the morning, all was quiet and dark outside – it is a time when the sorrows of the past often rage against the healing and empowered self of the present.  I find that acknowlegding and honoring memories and emotions from the dark past while also shining the light of love within helps end the battle, heals the heart, and creates a stronger, wiser soul.
