CircleOfTreesNov2011005 1 300x225 Be Thankful Circle of Trees Retreat

What a wonderful weekend! I had the great pleasure of attending the Be Thankful Cirlce of Trees Retreat this past weekend. First I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to put this weekend together and all the wonderful women who attended, sharing their friendship, energy, and smiles.

I had the honor of getting to know many of the wonderful women there, sharing stories, laughs, and hugs. I’m very grateful for facebook because I will be able to stay connected to new friends. The retreat was held at a lovely location in Mildford, PA. The weather was very nice and I did spend some time outside enjoying the trees, the full moon at night, and the fresh air.

I will be posting more details about the weekend throughout the week, but for now here is a list of the activites and workshops I participated in.

Friday – Made a Witch’s Ladder crafting project set up in the dining hall, Trance Dancing
Saturday – Morning presented an Introduction to Qi Gong for Healing worshop, afternoon attended 2 workshops – Winter Remedies (herbs) and Natural Therapies, in the evening firewalking, arrow breaking, table tipping (awesome!!!!), afterwards danced to drumming till the wee hours of morning
Sunday – Women’s Health Chat

I learned a great deal and have a lot of good information that I can use to improve and maintain my health and for my family as well. There were many different workshops to particpate it, and sometimes it is hard to chose which ones, but I just followed my inner guidance. I also enjoyed being a presenter for a workshop (Introduction to Qi Gong for Healing) and I look forward to future retreats and hope to have the opportunity to do other workshops. I didn’t over pack my schedule with workshops and allowed myself the pleasure of quiet time to enjoy the outdoors, meditation, and enjoying the company of the women there. The arrow breaking and firewalking were an awesome transformative experience, I will definitely do it again whenever it is offered.

If you have the opportunity to attend one of these retreats, I highly recommend it.  The next Circle of Trees Retreats are: Columcille Retreat Jan. 28-29 (Bangor, PA) and Stength and Rebirth Women’s Retreat April 27-29, 2012 (Millford, PA, more info. soon).

Bright Blessings, Lady Rose

  1. This sounds wonderful! I hope they have one again, and in decent weather. did you hear of this event on the NJ Pagan space?
I am a new follower, and i just signed up for the NJ pagan space.
Nice to meet a fellow NJersian!!

    • Welcome Susan – thank you for stopping by and lovely to meet a NJ neighbor :)

I heard about circle of trees retreats on facebook. There are other retreats planned – one in Jan and a spring retreat in late April or May (details are being worked out) – here is the website:

The location for the Jan. retreat sounds awesome – but I’m a bit busy that month. I am planning on attending the retreat in the spring and plan on doing another workshop or two (perhaps even a healing circle) – depending on what fits in with the theme and what is needed I will work with the folks in charge and plan according to what they would like to have at the event.

There is another retreat I love attending – Where Womyn Gather (previously known as Womongthering) – that is held ealry June – the link for that one is also on my link exchange page. It is four days, held at a campgrounds (with cabins and running water) on the border of NY and PA. They are also on Facebook.

If we both are able to attend the same retreats – depending on where you are in NJ and your schedule – I’d be open to carpooling if that would help make it easier for you to attend (I always leave to arrive very early and stay to the very end). My car isn’t that big but I can squeeze a couple more suitcases in the back seat.
